Chances are there was a specific plan put into place to market that product to meet the needs of the possible viewer of that commercial or marketing campaign. Within this step of the food value chain, it is important for the industry to share their products with consumers to let them know about the benefits of the product and how the product can meet their needs.

Within the Cargill line, there are a series of end products that are produced. Anything from chocolate to corn meal to fish feed. When thinking about production, it is important to keep the end product and those producing the end product in mind. Syngenta has six key steps in their “Good Growth Initiative Plan” to address the challenges of soil loss, disappearing biodiversity and producers living in poverty. Making crops more efficient is crucial to be able to utilize the shrinking amount of farmland, while increasing yields to still feed the population. Currently, millions of hectares of soil are too depleted to produce food. Syngenta is working to change farming practices to reduce soil loss.
