Take a Scoop of Food Science

During the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo, countless food science-focused opportunities are on full display. Booths across the Expo Hall feature interactive exhibits that are designed to engage and inspire attendees to consider careers related to food products and processing.

“I really hope that FFA members realize how connected Domino’s is to the [this] career pathway,” says Domino’s Communications Manager Jeannette Sharp. “There are so many jobs across our entire supply chain, from ideation all the way until training, and actually making, baking and delivering the pizzas out of our stores.”

These companies aren’t just giving away free pizza, ice cream and gift cards; they’re here to meet and support future generations of food science experts.

“There’s a lot of good talent that comes out of FFA,” says U.S. Poultry and Egg Association President Nath Morris. “We need to keep them in the agriculture component of that.”

Members also have the opportunity to get involved in food science-related competitions and programs throughout their time in FFA — many of which are made possible thanks to support from these companies and additional National FFA corporate partners.

“[We did a] big Exploration Ag project with National FFA to really kind of hone in on how our custard gets from farm to table,” says Jillian Garde, assistant marketing manager for Culver’s. “We really are here to help kind of educate and support these students.”
