Women Making History

Follow these five podcasts to learn about agriculture through the eyes of some of the industry’s leading female hosts.

  • Beyond the Crops: Jena Ochsner and Mary Pat Sass started their podcast to share an inside look at life on their family farms. New episodes air every Tuesday, and they discuss everything from farm happenings to conversations about motherhood, mental health and agronomy.
  • Midwest Farm Wives: As wives and mothers from western Kansas and northeast Missouri, Whitney Larson and Kylie Epperson use their podcast to share their personal experiences in agricultural and rural life.
  • The Rural Woman: Katelyn Duban is a first-generation female farmer in Alberta, Canada. Each week she sits down with female guests to discuss their stories in agriculture. New episodes are released every Friday.
  • The Female Farmer Project: Audra Mulkern shares the stories of female farmers. She brings to light the unique challenges her guests face and provides a platform to both elevate their voices and share resources with listeners.
  • Girls Talk Ag: Jennifer Campbell, a farmer/blogger; Karen Corrigan, an independent agronomist/business owner; and Kelsey Litchfield, a digital media consultant, team up to address current hot topics in agriculture. Tune in once a month to listen to the trio’s engaging conversations.

BLOG

The Next Step

After retiring as the 2022-23 National FFA eastern region vice president, Miriam Hoffman started a blog to encourage young people to face their future with humble confidence.

As she puts it, “You don’t have to plan out your whole life in order to simply take the next step.” Hoffman writes about how she strives to live out those words as a young college student who still has many decisions to make about her own future.

MULTIMEDIA SERIES

My FFA Experience

Jason Holland started My FFA Experience in 2020 as his supervised agricultural experience, and it was originally called Jason’s FFA Experience. He later rebranded the platform to reflect how each member’s experience is different.

The platform offers a YouTube video series, blog and social media content to showcase Holland’s tips and tricks on all things FFA. In 2022, My FFA Experience was featured on RFD-TV and won a Missouri FFA agricultural communications proficiency award.
