David Schapker Named Interim CEO of National FFA Organization and National FFA Foundation

INDIANAPOLIS (Monday, January 25, 2021/National FFA Organization) – The Joint Governance Committee of the National FFA Board of Directors and National FFA Board of Trustees has named National FFA Chief Financial Officer David Schapker as interim chief executive officer.

“Dave has provided solid and stable leadership and service to FFA for many years as CFO,” said Dr. James Woodard, National FFA Advisor and Board Chair. “The Joint Governance Committee trusts Dave’s perspective and knowledge to responsibly lead FFA during this interim period as we seek the next chief executive officer. We expect to identify a new CEO to lead FFA in the next four to six months.”

Schapker joined FFA in 2014 after previously serving as chief financial officer at Riley Children’s Foundation, the fundraising organization for Riley Hospital for Children. Schapker started his career with St. Louis-based Ralston Purina Co. and held a variety of financial management positions of increasing responsibility in corporate, subsidiary and spinoff organizations. He and his family moved to Indianapolis in 1998 when he joined Golden Stream Quality Foods as the company’s chief financial officer. He then joined Indianapolis-based NNC Group, now known as Stericycle, as the company’s director of finance in 2002 before accepting the chief financial officer position with Riley Children’s Foundation in 2008.

Originally from Evansville, Ind., Schapker earned a bachelor’s degree in business-accounting from Indiana University and a master’s in business administration-finance from St. Louis University.
