Shining a Light on Convention Week

Shining a Light, a downtown Indianapolis light presentation series, looked a little different this week. This project, which is funded through an arts and culture innovation grant, shows a video with sound 365 days a year on the AES Indiana building in downtown Indianapolis. Although the light show normally honors American soldiers, throughout the week of the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo, it illuminates all things blue and gold.

“It’s fun to celebrate and see faces of members that I’ve gotten to meet through the year and faces of my teammates that I’ve gotten to grow so close with this year on the wall,” says Jessica Herr, 2023-24 National FFA secretary. “It’s a fun way to celebrate convention and to celebrate agriculture.”

Want to see the show yourself? Indianapolis residents and FFA members and guests can watch the presentation nightly at 8:14, 9:14 and 10:14 p.m. in Monumental Circle.
