Navigating Life’s Current

Prairie Heights FFA Alumna Kat Walker possesses both grit and determination. Standing just 5′ tall, Walker works as a white water raft guide — a role that combines her interests, strengths and personal connections. Growing up, Walker began working at her local Boy Scout of America camp in Indiana before applying to a larger scouting adventure base at the age of 18 and moving to West Virginia. In addition to helping others enjoy the outdoors, Walker is applying skills she learned in FFA as she leads four-day rafting trips in New River Gorge National Park. Watch and learn about how Walker is breaking down barriers, both on the river and in life.
