Oregon FFA holds annual District Leadership Camps for each of the 11 districts in the state. At each camp, FFA members from each chapter in the district attend workshops led by state officers and participate in fun traditions.

Workshops explore topics such as team dynamics, chapter improvement, communication and self discovery. Members are equipped with skills needed to facilitate an uplifting dynamic within their officer team and chapter.

A Unique Tradition

Many Oregon camps hold timeless traditions such as the Polar Bear Plunge, where members join hands and jump in a cold lake early in the morning. Between workshops, members compete at activities such as sand volleyball, learn how to swing dance and take time to reflect over an evening bonfire.

A Chance to Expand One’s Network

The goal of Nebraska's COLT conferences is to teach chapter officers to be high-quality leaders and influencers in their chapters. COLT also educates chapter officers in their specific roles and teaches communication and teamwork skills.

Nebraska FFA encourages networking by splitting officers into breakout sessions to get acquainted with FFA members from other chapters. The schedule allows time for chapter officer teams to build bonds in small groups and to attend general assemblies.

CPC is a five-day conference held in July that is open to two officers per chapter. ALC happens three times during the month of June, with each conference spanning four days and welcoming about 180 members and advisors. All Arkansas FFA leadership conferences are held at Camp Couchdale, a 37-acre scenic retreat near Hot Springs.

Two Conferences Create Leaders

Chapter Presidents' Conference equips chapter presidents from across the state with the tools they need to successfully lead their chapter.

During Arkansas Leadership Conference (ALC), members engage in sessions on leadership development, team building, goal writing and several other activities they can use at chapter events. The three ALC events feature different curriculums to offer variety for members who want to attend again in years to come.

Building Teams of Leaders

Georgia COLT conferences provide chapter officers and advisors with resources for a successful year through both team and individual workshops. Some tasks require chapters to work together as a team, while others require members to split up into teams with people from other chapters to promote idea sharing. The workshop material is brainstormed and developed by the current Georgia state FFA officers.

State Officers Take the Lead

These conferences are the first official responsibilities of the Michigan FFA state officers after assuming office July 1. The officer team kicks off the State Leadership Conference for Chapter Officers (SLCCO) by introducing the Michigan FFA annual theme, which is developed each year in partnership with its Gold Star Partner, Consumers Energy.

At State Leadership Conference for Regional Officers, each region reveals its annual theme to the chapter officers through skits in the final session.
