FFA Members Share Favorite Convention Moments

From shopping at the FFA Mega Store to attending workshops and general sessions, the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo is packed with energy — and members from across the nation are eager to share what makes it so special.

When asked to describe the convention experience in just one word, members’ answers painted a vivid picture of the excitement in Indianapolis. Each word captures a unique side of what it means to be part of the blue and gold.

  • “Loud,” says Hawley FFA member Myka Hass from Minnesota.
  • “Exhilarating,” says Bedford County FFA member Alissa Robb from Tennessee.
  • “Intellectual,” says Fleming County FFA member Abby Vallotton from Kentucky.
  • “Fun,” says Bedford County FFA member Isaiah Moore from Tennessee.

Favorite moments varied, but one theme stood out: connection.

“I got to compete, and was top 10 individually for my competition — that was a super cool experience,” says Cambridge FFA member Jillian Robinson from New York.

“I competed in National FFA Talent and prepared public speaking, and it was a super cool experience,” says Miami-Yoder FFA member Jessa Book from Colorado.

When the music started before each session, the “Church Clap” seemed to be the official dance anthem of the convention. “It gets everyone moving — it’s always a hype song,” Robinson says. Book, on the other hand, choose “Just Dance” as her go-to jam.

Whether it’s competing, connecting or dancing with thousands of FFA members, the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo is a place where energy, passion and purpose come together to create one loud, exhilarating and unforgettable experience.
