About the Author: Kate Cooper

Hey, this is Kate Cooper. I'm a senior from Hughson High School in California where I am going on my second year of service as the Hughson FFA Chapter President. I also have the opportunity to serve my region as the Central Region South Area Vice President! My love for this organization originally developed through Public Speaking contests but has quickly grown! I have had the privilege to attend a variety of leadership conferences, including the Washington Leadership Conference and the 97th National Convention as a California National Delegate. Additionally, I am a part of the California State Champion Livestock Judging team and will be traveling to compete at the national contest in October! My SAE projects include raising Market Hogs to show at the Stanislaus County Fair, participating in Hughson FFA's garden club and working on my family's almond and walnut orchard. Outside of the blue jacket, I am serving as a Hughson California Scholarship Federation Co-President. I grew up on the stage doing musical theater and other performing arts so musicals will always hold a special place in my heart. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to see what this year has in store.
