Carter Coble (middle) proudly represents Sapulpa FFA at the Oklahoma State FFA Convention, showcasing leadership and commitment to service.
Carter Coble, a Sapulpa FFA Chapter member in Oklahoma, goes above and beyond to live and serve. Helping build the chapter and its members, Coble makes a positive difference in every room he’s in with his kindness, selflessness, and passion for agriculture.
Coble has dedicated years to FFA through the meat evaluation career development event (CDE), shooting sports CDE and welding. He is in charge of managing the Sapulpa FFA Chapter’s community service. His great heart and sensibility have allowed him to help the chapter serve in the best ways possible.
Despite many challenges, Coble still shows up with a smile. Before being diagnosed with diabetes, he struggled with incredible pain, almost losing his life. It affected his home life, school and FFA involvement. After being diagnosed, he still faced problems with his mental health and blood sugar, but he persevered. He credits his agricultural education teachers and, now late, papa for their support. “My ag teachers have been there for me through it all. They have supported me emotionally and physically through my journey,” he said.
While Coble serves as a role model for students and embodies the FFA motto, he draws his utmost inspiration from his papa. Standing as his biggest supporter, even through his battle with cancer, Carter’s papa owned a multimillion-dollar welding and fabrication business named J&G Steel. “He made me the man I am today. My papa is my inspiration for everything, and I strive to be like him,” he shared.
Coble’s perseverance isn’t the only thing that makes him such an inspiration. He’s truly willing to serve and is dedicated to FFA. He joined not only to learn about leadership and responsibility, but also to better his life, community and world around him. Coble said, “FFA has not only given me a second family but it has brightened my eyes in the best ways possible.”
Coble’s helping hands serve wherever possible because no task is too big or beneath him. His helpfulness has allowed the chapter to flourish and members to grow with it. “Living to serve” isn’t just the FFA motto, but also Coble’s. Spreading positivity and the true meaning of FFA, he makes a difference everywhere he goes.
