Missy Wooldridge, a former FFA member, spends her time serving and assisting the future generations of agriculturists. When asked what “Living to Serve” means to her, she said, “to give back what so many had shared with me.”

Wooldridge is president of Carroll County Livestock Leaders in Carrollton, Mo. She spends her spare time organizing county fairs and jackpot shows and is a longtime 4-H project leader. Wooldridge consistently teaches youth by sharing her knowledge and passion.  You can always find her giving feed recommendations, showmanship tips or spreading smiles. Not only does she help kids grow in the show ring, but she also feels strongly about growing them as people.

Wooldridge loves her job at Ray-Carroll Grain Growers, where she works with community members.

“My favorite part of my job is also the hardest part,” she says. “I get to make new connections every day, and I feel a sense of belonging and family.”

She has found her calling and groove, spending time with people like her, living in the FFA model, culture and lifestyle. Wooldridge did not have a crop background but had learned a lot through FFA and agriculture classes.

“Take it all in,” she says. “Step out of your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to try something unfamiliar to you.”

As leaders in our community, we have a responsibility to show this sense of community, pride and service. Sometimes, we take for granted the gifts given to us by people like Wooldridge and the National FFA Organization. We not only need to serve our community, but also to appreciate our blessings. When people share their knowledge and wisdom with us, it is our duty to pass it along.

When asked why she continually supports the cause, Wooldridge said, “We go through ups and downs in this industry, but with support, we get through it together. Ag is the heart of America; it is my home.”

Wooldridge is a leader in the agriculture industry who teaches others valuable life skills and embodies dedication and excellent work ethic.

Hello! My name is Michaela Miller. I am a junior at Carrollton High School in Missouri. In my FFA chapter, I am the 1st Vice President. I enjoy competing in public speaking events, and contest teams. My SAE consists of diversified crop production (corn and soybeans), and diversified livestock (cattle, swine, sheep). In my spare time, you can find me outside with one of my show animals, or holding a baby animal somewhere. I have always enjoyed writing from a young age, my very first thing I wanted to be when I grew up was either an author or a princess!! Recently, I have found myself really enjoying taking pictures for my FFA chapter, and capturing the hard work and smiles passed by my community. I'm excited to be serving as an FFA in the USA Reporter this year, which I hope will help me dive deeper into this sparked interest! The FFA Organization has given me the confidence to be myself, speak up, and make a difference in the world around me. The agriculture community holds a special place in my heart. We have so many hardworking, talented youth, and I would love to share your story!!
