FFA chapters across the United States join together each spring to celebrate the many achievements made throughout the year. Chapters may recognize their hardworking members and contributors, elect new chapter officers or share a meal together. This annual tradition brings communities together to showcase all the National FFA Organization has to offer.

However, Tioga High School had quite the rough start to its banquet. With almost no community involvement, it was hard to get people to attend its awards ceremony. For the first three years the school put on its banquet, only around 21 people, including the officer team, would attend. Close friends and family attended, but it was hard to grasp the community’s attention.

That all changed when the 2023-24 Tioga FFA Officer Team wanted to try something new.

The team sent out countless invites to local businesses and organizations, moved the location of the banquet to a nearby park and brought in 50 attendees. This was a big deal to the team at the time, especially since FFA was still so new to the community. The banquet was a success and left people anticipating the next one.

The chapter soared to new heights when a record-breaking 70 people showed up to the 2025 banquet and supported the school’s program. The chapter presented more than 100 awards to the outstanding members of its school and key contributors from the community. Due to the overwhelming amount of student activity the past school year, the officer team made sure to welcome these new participants with open arms and introduce them to a world of new opportunities.

California FFA State Secretary Gianna Gonzalez also attended the banquet to share a few words and spend the evening with the officer team. Gonzalez has been an inspiration to the whole chapter during her year of service, and the school was thrilled to have her attend the banquet.

By the end of the evening, the new officers were duly elected and installed; a year of hard work and endless opportunities lies ahead of them. After lots of hugs, tears and memorable moments, the chapter came together one last time to celebrate its accomplishments and congratulate everyone on their hard work.

The new chapter officer team has some big shoes to fill, but is prepared to take on the new challenges heading its way.
