Eric Moen, a senior at Richland 44 High School in North Dakota, demonstrates his Wildlife Production and Management SAE project, which involves using Dermestid beetles to clean animal skulls for educational purposes. The beetles consume the flesh from bones, which are then boiled and whitened to create clean specimens that students can use to learn about wildlife identification. Through this hands-on project, Eric has developed skills in natural resource management while sharing knowledge with other students and gaining valuable experience through FFA competitions and networking opportunities.
