Hannah Shaw, a recent graduate from Mars Hill, Maine, shares her experience with her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) focused on vegetable production and agricultural communications in the potato industry. She describes working on a potato farm performing tasks like operating conveyor belts during harvest and driving a potato truck alongside harvesters, as well as working for the Maine Potato Board conducting interviews and writing articles about local growers. Through her SAE, Hannah developed valuable skills including work ethic, record keeping, and time management, while emphasizing that the agricultural industry offers diverse career pathways for people with different interests and strengths.
