Rogelio Sija, a junior at Elm FFA chapter in Michigan, shares his supervised agricultural experience raising chickens for the Michigan FFA broiler contest. Through daily care of the birds from two days old to processing at six weeks, he has developed valuable skills including patience, time management, and problem-solving while gaining appreciation for the work involved in food production. Rogelio credits his family and agricultural advisor for their support and encourages other students to pursue meaningful SAEs that align with their interests rather than obligations.
