Giancarlo Amonso from Sound School in Connecticut documents his SAE project converting used pallets into vertical planters. He improved upon an existing pallet planter design by addressing soil loss and fabric deterioration issues, using weed fabric and fastening techniques to create a more functional product. Through this project, he overcame sourcing challenges and learned to use power tools, eventually receiving requests from teachers to build custom planters featuring various flag designs.
