Luke Anderson and Giovanni Garcia, both 11th graders in the Hamilton City FFA chapter, manage a school-based olive oil farm SAE project that includes fertilizing, labeling, and harvesting olives. Motivated by their farming backgrounds, they have learned valuable skills in hard work and communication while facing challenges like equipment maintenance and farm operations. Through classroom plant science coursework and community involvement, they are developing real-world agricultural skills and knowledge to prepare for their futures.
