Nicole Ford, an 11th grader from the Seneca FFA chapter in Louisville, Kentucky, shares her two Supervised Agricultural Experiences focused on animal care. Her first SAE involves volunteering at the Louisville Zoo with specialty animals, while her second SAE centers on making homemade dog treats and cat toys at the local Humane Society using simple recipes with ingredients like peanut butter, whole wheat flour, and applesauce. Through these experiences, Nicole has developed leadership skills, learned animal handling techniques, and gained cooking knowledge that she believes will support her future goal of becoming an exotic veterinarian.
