Kristen Schmidt – Take a Seat

This is Kristen Schmidt's 2015 retiring address as 2014-15 National FFA Central Region Vice President. Using the metaphor of a chair and the act of taking a seat, she encourages FFA members to establish a firm foundation of morals, beliefs, and values rather than resting their identity on fleeting things like popularity. Drawing on the story of Paul and Silas and her own experience staying with a host family in Japan, Schmidt urges listeners to hold fast to what they know to be true and to relentlessly love and serve others despite their differences.
