Goat Program SAE

Macy Amaro, a 12th grade student from Willows FFA in California, created the Maddie Hunger Goat Program, which enables students with disabilities to raise, show, and sell goats at the Glen County Fair. The program integrates classroom learning with hands-on mentorship, requiring peer support and building relationships between students and mentors before barn activities begin. Through developing and leading this SAE, Macy has gained valuable skills in time management, leadership, and public speaking while discovering a passion for working with students with special needs that has inspired her to pursue agricultural education as a career.
