Carson McQueen, a sixth grader in Mount Pleasant FFA, runs a Supervised Agricultural Experience project involving a gardening club at a nursing home. His project includes planning and leading gardening activities for elderly residents, such as planting and harvesting from a tomato garden, while implementing safety measures like removing tripping hazards and using proper equipment. Through this work, Carson has learned the value of engaging seniors in gardening activities and developed skills in plant care, budgeting, and community service that he believes will benefit his future career.
