Grant Miller, an 11th grader from the Lamar FFA chapter, describes his Supervised Agricultural Experience working at the Bacchus Family Adventure Farm, a petting zoo featuring exotic animals like lemurs, kinkajous, zebras, and camels. His daily responsibilities include feeding and watering animals, maintaining clean facilities, providing enrichment activities, and increasingly, managing animal health through tasks like administering shots and veterinary care. Through this hands-on experience and record-keeping practices, Grant has developed responsibility and practical skills that he believes will prepare him for his goal of becoming a veterinarian.
