David Lopez – Someone, Somebody, You

This is David Lopez's 2021 retiring address as 2020-21 National FFA Western Region Vice President, titled "Someone, Somebody, You." Using the FFA jacket as a central metaphor, he shares how three people—Aiden, a student who encouraged him at a Wisconsin convention; Ceci, a kind playground monitor from his childhood; and Emmanuel Lucero, a mentor who introduced him to FFA before dying of cancer in 2013—each saw him and made him feel like a somebody. He challenges members to pay attention to others and offer simple kindness, reminding them that the jacket's true value lies in being someone for somebody who needs them.
