Composting SAE

Two students from Newsom FFA chapter in Florida have created a composting SAE project that collects food scraps from the school cafeteria and processes them in a homemade rotating compost drum to create nutrient-rich soil for the agriculture department. They built the compost bin using a recycled barrel, rebar, and wooden planks, and educated students about proper composting practices by explaining what materials can and cannot be composted. The project, done in partnership with Randall FFA, demonstrates environmental stewardship while producing healthy soil for the school's agricultural programs.
