Staten Castillo, a sophomore at Hot Springs High School, documents his placement SAE project building cattle pens and gates at Peterson Ranch in New Mexico. The project involved measuring and welding pipe to construct functional gates, requiring precise measurements and mastery of wire feed welding techniques. Through this hands-on experience, Staten developed skills in design, layout, and equipment operation while working under the mentorship of his agriculture teacher.
