2022 Session 5

This is Session 5 of the 2022 National FFA Convention & Expo, opened with the ceremonial roll call of officers and hosted by session chairs Mallory White and Jackson Sylvester. Dr. Chavonda Jacobs-Young, USDA Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics and Chief Scientist, delivered remarks challenging members to find their passion in agriculture and build diversity in the field, and the National FFA Band performed medleys of the Beach Boys and classic rock. The session recognized winners across proficiency awards, the agriscience fair, career and leadership development events, and the National Premier Chapter Award for Building Communities, introduced the national officer candidates and team mentors, and closed with the retiring address of Western Region Vice President Josiah Cruikshank on embracing risk and discomfort to develop a tough mindset.
