2018 Session 7

This is Session 7 of the 2018 National FFA Convention & Expo. The session opened with the national anthem, officer and member rolls, and the opening ceremonies led by session chairs and Western and Southern Region Vice Presidents Bryce Klum and Ian Bennett, who shared memories from their year of service between segments. Highlights included the retiring address of National FFA Secretary Erica Beyer, who spoke about facing a Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis and choosing to fight fear together rather than alone, along with performances by the National FFA Chorus and Band, recognition of Leadership Development Event winners in Creed Speaking, Extemporaneous and Prepared Public Speaking, and Employment Skills, and a tribute to retiring assistant band director Dale Latva. The session closed with keynote speaker Judson Laipply, who presented his "struggle bus" philosophy and performed his "Evolution of Dance" routine, followed by a preview of the upcoming general session featuring President Donald Trump.
