2018 Session 1B

This is Session 1B of the 2018 National FFA Convention & Expo. The session opened with Star in Agribusiness finalist profiles, a spoken-word performance built around the convention theme of Just One (risk, step, action, choice, voice), the introduction of the 2017-2018 national officer team, the opening ceremonies and roll call led by President Breanna Holbert, and the presentation of colors by the T.C. Howe High School Hornet Battalion Color Guard. Session chair Breanna Holbert and her twin sister hosted with a running twin trivia bit, interspersed with performances by the National FFA Band and Chorus and organist John Schutte, before keynote speaker Kyle Scheele delivered a message about overcoming fear, belonging, and the power of one person to lift others up. The session closed with an announcement that President Donald J. Trump would attend Session 9 and the formal adjournment.
