2016 Session 4

This is Session 4 of the 2016 National FFA Convention & Expo, hosted by Orion Samuelson and chaired by Eastern Region Vice President Sydney Snyder around the theme of food and service. Lucie Johnson of the U.S. Department of Education delivered greetings encouraging members to pursue college and farming, followed by recognition of the National FFA Outstanding Alumni Chapter and Alumni Outstanding Achievement winners, musical performances by the National FFA Band, and the retiring address of Central Region Vice President Abra Meyer on the difference between hearing and listening. The session also conferred the Honorary American FFA Degrees, the Distinguished Service Citation to the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, and VIP awards, and closed with a keynote from former NFL player turned farmer Jason Brown, who shared how his brother's death inspired him to grow sweet potatoes for the hungry at First Fruits Farm.
