Each year, FFA chapters celebrate National FFA Week. It’s a time to share what FFA is and its impact on members. This February, members and chapter advisors celebrated FFA and served their communities, National FFA Officers visited with FFA chapters, and FFA Alumni and Supporters engaged on social media. Meanwhile, FFA partners and donors contributed to Give FFA Day, and National FFA staff celebrated at the National FFA Center in Indianapolis. Celebrating National FFA Week Locally

Many FFA advisors used the National FFA Week Implementation Guide to plan activities for their FFA chapters and schools during FFA Week.

Analytics show that users accessed the guide 4,436 times as of March 2022, with most interactions in January and February. During FFA Week, visitors to FFA.org accessed the guide 516 times. Over National FFA Week, the FFA Week webpage on FFA.org was viewed 10,375 times.

There are many possibilities for FFA Week activities, including:

  • Teacher appreciation
  • Social media campaigns
  • Service projects
  • Engaging with alumni and supporters
  • School assemblies
  • School spirit days (i.e., “wear blue and gold day”)
  • Recognition of Greenhand Degree recipients
  • Fundraisers

National FFA Officer Visits

National FFA Officers interacted with 178 FFA chapters from 24 states through in-person and virtual activities during National FFA Week. Advisors who hosted an officer rated their National FFA Week experience with a National FFA Officer 4.6 out of 5 stars.1

95% said that the visit from a National FFA Officer had a positive impact on their FFA Week experience.

Our chapter and school were very excited to host a visit from a National FFA Officer during National FFA Week. It was a way for FFA members to learn more about the opportunities they can take advantage of if they truly get involved in FFA.

Week of Service

For the second year in a row, National FFA encouraged FFA members to serve their local communities through National Days of Service during National FFA Week and invited them to report back. According to reports from local FFA chapters, 1,172 FFA members from 20 states served their local communities during National FFA Week. They completed 2,257 service hours. Members also engaged 1,244 non-FFA youth, adults, and FFA alumni and supporters, who served an additional 1,473 hours.

Record Funds Raised for National FFA and Grant Funding

Wednesday of National FFA Week was Give FFA Day. During the day, 1,321 individual donors contributed a record-setting $422,433.75.2

Paper FFA emblems are sold at Tractor Supply stores to support the Grants for Growing program. A record $1,129,653 was raised during the week, an increase of over $339,000 from 2021. The funds support student-led agricultural projects run by FFA chapters across the country.

On Give FFA Day, donors could designate their funds to benefit a state FFA association or Give the Gift of Blue. 99 donors contributed $11,287 toward FFA jackets for members as part of the Give the Gift of Blue program.3 826 donors gave a total of $216,353.95 to state FFA foundations.3

National FFA Alumni and Supporters

Tuesday of National FFA Week celebrated alumni and supporters of FFA. Social media users were encouraged to use #FFAalumni to share their stories, and social media campaigns from National FFA resulted in 10 alumni and supporters joining as life members or investing in the life member endowment fund.

One hundred individuals registered for the Forever Blue Network in February 2022, and more than half of those were during FFA Week.

Celebrations at the National FFA Center

National FFA staff—working both at 6060 FFA Drive and remotely across the country—took part in activities throughout the week to celebrate FFA. Staff competed against each other in testing their knowledge on National FFA competitive events and wore FFA apparel all week long. Former FFA members who serve on National FFA staff proudly displayed their jackets at the entrance of the National FFA Center in Indianapolis during FFA Week.
