The National FFA Chorus and National FFA Talent debuted at the 20th National FFA Convention in Kansas City, Mo., in 1948. The opportunity, which is now combined with the National FFA Band, remains strong 75 years later. National band, chorus and talent contestants must audition, and some states require members to participate in their state music or talent program before applying. Once accepted, the opportunity comes to life. National band and chorus members perform throughout the week of national convention, including on stage during general sessions. Talent contestants compete throughout the week, and a winner is announced in front of an audience of thousands.
