The 2025-26 School Year

Whiteville FFA members and guests celebrated the year by gathering on Friday, May 15, 2026. We began our meeting with opening ceremonies and proceeded to the meal provided by Whiteville FFA. Below is our 2025-26 Whiteville FFA Officer Team.

  • Treasurer: Sidney Heath
  • Reporter: Lillian “Addie” Young
  • Sentinel: Cameron Strickland
  • Chaplain: Kolby McPherson
  • Parliamentarian: Lillian Elliot
  • Historian: Krista Hunt

These officers have done an excellent job serving our chapter this year. We express thankfulness for their leadership and service to the Whiteville FFA Chapter.

Career Development Events (CDEs)

The following CDE teams were recognized at the chapter banquet:

  • Columbus County Fair Pig Show
  • Tractor Driving
  • Land Judging
  • Extemporaneous Public Speaking
  • Prepared Public Speaking
  • Creed Speaking
  • Envirothon
  • Employablility Skills

  • Agriculture Education
  • Introduction to Horticulture (Will advance to the North Carolina FFA Convention in June.)
  • Floriculture

Junior FFA

Whiteville FFA travels to Edgewood Elementary School every month to educate children about different areas in agriculture. Members were able to log over 200 community service hours this year. This program may also be referred to as Partners in Active Learning Service (PALS), and we had over 30 members participate in the program this year. Members who participated were recognized at the banquet.

Greenhand and Chapter FFA Degrees

There are two FFA degrees that can be received at the high school level. These are the Greenhand FFA Degree and Chapter FFA Degree.

Students eligible for the Greenhand FFA Degree must be a member who has completed an agriculture class. Candidates must also have a plan for their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) and show progress within FFA.

Students eligible for the Chapter FFA Degree must be a member who has completed two agriculture classes. Degree candidates must also have implemented their SAE by completing 45 hours or earning $150. Members applying for their Chapter FFA Degree must also show significant progress within FFA.

Officer Nominations

The Nominating Committee met on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The Nominating Committee consisted of graduating senior officers Garren Priest and Westyn Hill, Whiteville High School Principal W.T. Edwards, Whiteville High School Athletic Director Savanna Elkins and Whiteville City Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator Susan Watson. The following nominations for officers were made:

  3. Adisyn Worthington
  4. Sidney Heath
  5. Bailey Fowler
  6. Jackson Boren

The nominated officers will attend an after-school meeting on Thursday, May 28, 2026 to affirm their position and duties.

Overall, Whiteville FFA had a very successful year and is thankful for everyone who made this year possible. We would also like to extend a special “thank you” to sponsors and staff who helped out this year.
