“Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve” is a philosophy every FFA member lives by. For some, however, the power of Living to Serve is more than a calling.

Ariana Williams, a current junior in the Fontainebleau FFA Chapter, has gone above and beyond in exemplifying what it means when you are “Living to Serve.” Collectively, she has over two hundred service hours, and she specifically enjoys doing everything she can to serve people directly.

“Living to serve isn’t just a powerful phrase to meit’s a lifestyle,” she said.

Williams gained most of her service hours through working with her local church. Throughout the summer, she could be seen working in her church’s Vacation Bible School. There, she instructed 4- and 5-year-olds on biblically related arts and crafts. Her work throughout the church community shows outstanding leadership skills, leaving an impact on the area.

She also meticulously organizes her chapter’s fundraising events, such as the annual rodeo. Members of Fontainebleau FFA sell raffle tickets to raise money for the program and local scholarship organizations. Every year, the chapter also leads a mini farm at the local Parish Fair, where Williams educates children about the importance of agriculture.

Williams has spent many hours designing on Canva, ensuring that the information her chapter needs is published. She is in charge of working club fairs throughout the year and updating the bulletin board with new events every month.

“Change starts in serving others and caring for the needs of others, not just our own,” she said.

The motto “Living to Serve” unites FFA members across the nation to create a positive impact. Visit FFA/LivingToServe to discover types of service projects, applications for Living to Serve Grants, or register for a National Day of Service event near you.
