As FFA chapters begin thinking ahead to spring activities, plant sales remain a popular and impactful way to engage students in hands-on learning, fundraising, and community outreach. A new initiative—the Plant-Powered Fundraiser—offers resources to help chapters plan, grow, and promote their spring sales with confidence.
What Is the Plant-Powered Fundraiser?
Developed in collaboration with Seminis®, a Bayer® brand, and Ball Seed®, a leading home garden seed distributor, the Plant-Powered Fundraiser connects FFA chapters with high-quality vegetable and flower seeds typically used by commercial growers. This program is designed to support agricultural education by providing practical tools and guidance for student-led growing projects.
Learning Through Growing
Participating chapters receive:
- Seed Discounts: Access to commercial-grade seeds at reduced prices, making it easier to plan and budget for spring sales.
- Right-Sized Packs: Seed quantities are tailored to fit chapter needs, ensuring manageable growing efforts.
- Expert Guidance: Growing tips from Seminis experts help students understand best practices for nurturing healthy plants.
- Marketing Support: Ready-to-use materials, including flyers and ads, help chapters promote their sales within their communities.
These resources are intended to complement classroom instruction and provide students with real-world experience in plant science, business planning, and customer engagement.

By signing up now, chapters will receive updates and be among the first to know when the Ball Seed ordering site opens later this fall.
