2022 Session 1A

This is Session 1A of the 2022 National FFA Convention & Expo. The national officer team opened the session with an Olympics-themed program, reflecting on FFA history including World War II-era members and the 1965 merger with the New Farmers of America, followed by the official opening ceremony, a flag presentation by the Beech Grove JROTC Hornet Battalion, and the Parade of States. Session chair and National FFA President Cole Baerlocher led the proceedings, with remarks from Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch and interim National FFA Advisor Cheryl Zimmerman, musical performances by the National FFA Band and Chorus, and recognition of corporate and individual donors. Four-time Olympic champion Tamika Catchings delivered the keynote, sharing her story of growing up with a hearing disability and encouraging members to be BOLD—to believe, be open to change, lead with love, and dare to be remarkable.
