Brennan Costello – How NOT to Ask a Girl to Dance
This is Brennan Costello's 2013 retiring address as 2012-13 National FFA Central Region Vice President. Using the humorous story of breaking a girl's nose while asking her to dance in sixth grade, along with childhood memories of FFA camp and reflections on his achievement-focused high school years, Costello challenges members to redefine bravery as making small, selfless choices with purpose. He encourages the audience to "do small things in a brave way" and to be a hero for someone else by finding a meaningful reason to take risks.
