This is David Townsend's 2017 retiring address as 2016-17 National FFA President, titled "Find Home," in which he argues that home is a feeling of comfort being oneself rather than a physical place. Using stories of childhood backyard camping, a volleyball tournament at the Wyoming FFA leadership camp, and a live ukulele performance of a reworked song, he distinguishes between planned and unexpected growth outside one's comfort zone. He concludes that finding home and maximizing experiences comes through helping others feel welcome and serving those around us.
