Erik Robinson – Facing the Lion

This is Erik Robinson's 2022 retiring address as 2021-22 National FFA Southern Region Vice President, titled "Facing the Lion." Drawing on an African safari, the Maasai tradition of lion hunts, and his own experience being cut from the track team after an injury, Robinson reframes the idea that lions represent the pain, fear, and struggle in our lives. He encourages FFA members not to simply become the lion but to confront their personal hardships, arguing that strength, courage, and wisdom emerge when we choose to face them head-on.
