A Look Into 2022 Local FFA Week Celebrations

National Teacher Ambassadors for FFA submitted descriptions and photos of their chapters' FFA Week activities (N=35). Additionally, FFA advisors who hosted a National FFA Officer completed a survey about the impact of those visits.

Celebrating National FFA Week Locally

Each year, FFA chapters celebrate National FFA Week. It’s a time to share what FFA is and its impact on members. From teacher appreciation events to school spirit days to service projects, FFA chapters celebrated the history and the future of FFA. How an FFA chapter chooses to celebrate National FFA Week is completely dependent on that chapters’ members and advisor(s). However, common local FFA Week activities include but aren’t limited to1:

  • Teacher appreciation
  • Social media campaigns
  • Service projects
  • Engaging with alumni and supporters
  • School assemblies
  • School spirit days (i.e., “wear blue and gold day”)
  • Recognition of Greenhand Degree recipients
  • Fundraisers

2022 FFA Week National Days of Service

1,172 FFA members from 20 states completed 2,257 service hours during National FFA Week. Members of Eastside High School FFA in Georgia recorded reading leveled agriculture books to provide elementary students and classrooms additional reading materials. Members from Wahpeton FFA in North Dakota constructed 30 wood duck boxes for the Tewaukon Wildlife Refuge.
