Life members receive a membership card, a membership certificate, a lifetime subscription to FFA New Horizons magazine, the ability to attend personal and professional development conferences and conventions, and additional member benefits.

The true impact of a life membership to the lives of FFA members is through leadership scholarships.

Nationwide Membership Supports Nationwide FFA Members

In 2020, lifetime memberships allowed 42 alumni chapters and state associations to receive leadership scholarships to help current FFA members. Some states received up to $5,800 in leadership scholarships.

Life membership continues to impact FFA members—year after year

The one-time cost to become a life member creates long-lasting impact for current FFA members, and here’s how: Life members contribute to an investment account that is continually used to fund member experiences through leadership scholarships. As of June 30, 2020, the investment account sits at $5.96 million—the highest it’s ever been.

157 FFA members sent to national conferences

In 2020, national leadership scholarships covered 100% of expenses for FFA members attending the following national events:

• 61 FFA members attended a 212° conference — determining the role personal habits play in personal growth, combining creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems, interpreting controllable factors contributing to self-image, assessing personal fitness and dietary habits, differentiating between professional and personal relationships, identifying a mentor.
• 34 FFA members attended a 360° conference — defining influence and identifying the influence process, recognizing positive characteristics in relationships, identifying methods to determine if someone is trustworthy and exploring methods for building others’ trust in us, recognizing the benefits of maintaining a positive image, reviewing qualities of collaboration and demonstrating collaboration skills, inspecting everyday influence.
• 27 FFA members attended the Washington Leadership Conference — based on the four tenets of me, we, do and serve; the overall objective is becoming an engaged citizen who can make a measurable positive difference in their community.
• 19 FFA members attended the International Leadership Seminar for State Officers — the development of global competency and awareness.
• 16 FFA members attended National FFA Convention & Expo — leadership, personal growth, career exploration opportunities, and the opportunity for members to be recognized for their accomplishments.

4,110 FFA members sent to state and local events

National leadership scholarships also covered 100% of expenses for FFA members attending the following state and local events:

• 3,339 FFA members attended their state FFA conventions.
• 755 FFA members attended a state or local FFA event including Greenhand Conference, college tours, Quiz Bowl, and state band/choir.
• 16 FFA members attended their State FFA Camp.
