In Arkansas, Mountain Home FFA member Hannah Dooley’s commitment to agriculture goes far beyond the blue jacket.

A five-year member of her local chapter, Dooley currently serves as a chapter vice president and was a fair board representative during the 2024-25 school year. She competed on the conduct of chapter meetings team, agronomy, milk judging and livestock judging. She also received the Star Greenhand award in 2023, and represented her chapter at the Arkansas Leadership Conference. In 2025, she received her State FFA Degree.

At the county level, she has exhibited breeding and market cattle, poultry and photography projects, winning multiple awards and being active over a five year period, which showcases her prolonged dedication to the organization. At the district level, she has exhibited cattle and hogs, as well as competed in showmanship and breeding classes. Her responsibilities included barn maintenance and mentoring younger exhibitors in proper presentation and grooming of their animals. She has also advanced to the state level in cattle, hog and poultry exhibition, which included winning Reserve Champion Pen of Broilers at the 2025 Arkansas State Fair.

“Being involved in these activities has allowed me to develop leadership, teamwork and responsibility while helping make the fair a successful experience for exhibitors, families and the community,” Dooley says.

She recently committed to the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain as a member of the livestock showcase team, taking the skills FFA has equipped her onto her higher educational pursuits.

“The leadership skills I have developed through showing animals and participating in agricultural programs will continue to benefit me as I pursue higher education and a career in the cattle industry,” she says. “I hope to continue mentoring younger exhibitors and serving as a leader who encourages other to become involved in agriculture.”

In addition to FFA, Dooley is an active 4-H member, where she participates in livestock shows and mentors younger members on showmanship and animal care. According to her, the most rewarding thing she has done in 4-H was build a sensory garden for the local elementary school. “I collaborated with teachers and peers to plan the layout, select plants and construct accessible pathways,” she says.

Dooley is also involved in National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and the Baxter County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee.
