Perkins, Okla., senior showman Brock Hammock made a lasting impression at the 2025 Arizona National Livestock Show. In addition to earning two Reserve Breed Champion titles with his Berkshire and Poland barrows, he gained memories that he will never forget. Showing against exhibitors from across the country, Hammock showed not only the quality of his livestock, but also his dedication and hard work as a showman.
Beyond the competition itself, Hammock said one of his favorite parts of the Arizona National Livestock Show was the opportunity to connect with exhibitors from across the nation. He also enjoyed exploring The Grand Canyon State with its beautiful weather.

Hammock and his team selected the pigs for Arizona in late July and spent months preparing for the national ring. The Berkshire, named Richard, and the Poland, named Phillip, both reflected their distinct personalities and ultimately helped Hammock achieve the Reserve Breed Champion titles.
When asked about his reaction to the achievement, Hammock said he felt nothing but gratitude. “It was humbling to see all the hard work pay off at the national level,” he adds.
Preparing for the show required countless hours of work, including daily care, skin and hair management, and attention to every small detail. Hammock credited his family and team for playing a major role in his success and daily life.

His favorite memory from the show was exhibiting both Reserve Breed Champions and participating in the Grand Drive. Hammock encourages new showmen to enjoy every moment and always strive to be the best showman possible, even if you do not have the best hogs. Hammock added that opportunities like national shows are unique experiences that pass by quickly.
Above all, Hammock hopes new showmen remember that hard work, sportsmanship and drive are what success really is in the show ring.
