Emily Morgan and Ferguson FFA Chapter officers at Florida FFA COLT.
For Emily Morgan, a love for animals has always come naturally. From an early age, she knew she wanted to work with them in some way. Growing up with pets and later working at a training barn as a teenager, she discovered her passion not only for caring for animals but also for agriculture as a whole. That experience planted the seeds for the life she leads today: one dedicated to service, teaching and growth.
Teaching, however, wasn’t always part of her plan. “Being a teacher never crossed my mind,” Morgan says. “But when the opportunity came, I realized it could be a way to grow and to help others grow with me.”
What began as a new challenge quickly became a meaningful career that allows her to guide students through agricultural education and leadership opportunities.

Morgan teaches John A. Ferguson underclassmen veterinary terminology.
A key influence in her journey was Jennifer Bice, owner of Redwood Hill Farm. Bice’s dedication to dairy goats, cheese making and agricultural entrepreneurship inspired Morgan to bring professionalism and creativity to every part of her work. “She lived and breathed the FFA motto,” Morgan says. “Her passion showed me how one person can make a difference through agriculture.”
As a former FFA officer, Morgan competed in a variety of events, from livestock shows to leadership activities. Her favorite memories came from finding a community of like-minded individuals who shared her work ethic and passion for the animal industry.
Now, as a veterinary science teacher and FFA advisor for the Ferguson FFA Chapter, Morgan encourages her students to take responsibility, build teamwork and develop compassion through hands-on work at the school barn. She believes that caring for animals teaches valuable life lessons.
“It’s about realizing that the grass is only green where you water it,” she says. “You have to put effort into what matters, and when you do, you grow along with it.”
Beyond the classroom, Morgan operates her farm, Aiyana’s Empire Dairy Goats, where she produces goat dairy products for the Miami community. Her goal is to introduce people from diverse backgrounds to local agriculture and start conversations about the future of urban farming.
“Agriculture belongs everywhere,” she says. “When people see it in their own neighborhoods, they start to understand and appreciate it.”

For Morgan, “Living to Serve” means growing herself while lifting others. Whether she’s guiding her students, volunteering her time or connecting her community to agriculture through Aiyana’s Empire Dairy Goats, she embodies the spirit of FFA every day — proving that true leadership begins with service.
