The Carrollton FFA Chapter in Missouri holds an annual Cow Tongue Football Tournament, and this year, an activity called Corn Olympics. These events are held to bring the FFA chapter together and increase involvement within FFA.

Cow Tongue Football

The Cow Tongue Football Tournament occurred on Stan Kee Field in Carrollton, Mo. This year’s event was a huge hit; the entire chapter came out and either played or supported.

Some students who were not in FFA thought it sounded interesting and came out to watch. This event helped to encourage others to consider becoming FFA members and join in the fun.

The officers ran the event, which included taking pictures, making teams, creating flyers and addressing rules. This taught the officer team leadership skills, planning and organization.

Corn Olympics

The chapter hosted the Corn Olympics in the ag shop in October. Many attended the event, which included playing cornhole, eating corn dogs and doing almost everything corn-related. It was a fun event centered around harvest.

At the Corn Olympics, the Carrollton FFA celebrated harvest with all things corn-related.

What does your chapter do for fun? The positive energy and competitive nature of the members surfaced, and all had a great time. Not only are these activities exciting, but they also bring back one of the main reasons we all love FFA so much: new connections and friendships that last a lifetime. In FFA, you are always meeting new people, with whom you will share interests throughout your life.
