Friendly Competition and Genuine Connection

If you spend enough time around the Three Rivers Federation, you’ll quickly learn that we take two things seriously: serving our communities and competing with one another, always with a smile. Whether it’s seeing who can ace the next career development event, give the strongest speech or sell the most plates, we’ve mastered cheering each other on while trying to outdo one another just a little bit.

That’s what makes the Three Rivers Federation special. We’re a mix of chapters from Bladen and Columbus Counties in North Carolina, each with strengths, traditions and personalities. Yet, when we come together, it feels like one big family reunion. We might wear different school colors, but underneath we’re all blue and gold.

Service, competition and leadership aren’t separate here. They’re part of what it means to be a Three Rivers FFA Federation member. When one chapter hosts a plant sale, others help spread the word. When one team wins a competition, everyone celebrates.

That unity shows what “Living to Serve” truly means: lifting others, while giving your best in everything you do.

The Heart of It All: Federation Leadership Conference (FLC)

Our spirit shines brightest during our favorite time of year: the Federation Leadership Conference (FLC). The Three Rivers Federation is the only federation in North Carolina with its own FLC, and we wear that badge proudly!

Every January, members from across our federation gather for a day full of workshops, laughter, leadership lessons and friendly competition. You’ll see freshmen discovering their confidence, seniors passing down wisdom and advisors looking proudly at the next generation of leaders.

The Power of Connection and Service

What makes FLC special isn’t just the games or workshops — it’s the connection. It’s that moment when you realize that even though you might be rivals in the contest ring, you’re teammates in serving your community.

It’s about learning together, supporting one another and growing as leaders who aren’t afraid to step up and make a difference.

When we leave FLC, we take home more than new ideas. We carry friendships, inspiration and a stronger belief that leadership isn’t about titles or trophies. It’s about kindness, teamwork and finding ways to improve your community, one action at a time.

A Federation That Lives to Serve Together

That’s the heartbeat of the Three Rivers Federation: chapters that work hard, serve harder, and never forget to have fun. Whether volunteering at local fairs, helping younger members prepare for competitions or organizing service projects, we live out the FFA motto every day.

So, as we move into another exciting year, the Three Rivers Federation continues to show what it means to live the FFA motto. We compete hard, we serve harder, and we always celebrate each other along the way.

If you’re part of the Three Rivers Federation, consider this your official invitation to join us this January for our one-of-a-kind FLC! Bring your energy, your jacket and your best team spirit because we don’t just live to serve — we live to serve together.
