In Alabama, two things stand out: agriculture and football. For many locals, these two things shape their lives, influencing not just their unique traditions but also their sense of community.
With the help of his family, Weaver FFA member and agriculturist Dalton Fink has uniquely combined the spirit of farming with the excitement of Friday night football games, making games exciting for both fans and players.
For years, the Finks have been seen riding their horse, Jedi (pictured above), through the streets of Weaver, Ala. In the heart of this small community, their presence symbolizes pride and Bearcat Spirit.
However, in 2022, Jedi made a memorable debut at a local football game. This moment was a turning point — not just for Jedi and the Fink family, but for the town of Weaver.
A Beacon of Hope
At that time, the community was facing some tough challenges. The football team had hit a rough patch, losing every single game. As a result, the town’s spirit began to fall, and many fans started to lose faith in their team’s ability to turn things around.
During this challenging period, Jedi emerged as a unique symbol of hope. With every game he attended, he became a gentle reminder of resilience and community spirit, inspiring fans to rally around their team even when times were tough.
Every Friday night, whether the game was at home or required a two-hour journey, fans could always count on seeing Jedi arrive, gracefully unload from his trailer, and be ready to uplift the spirits of everyone around him. His presence at the games became a beloved tradition, bringing joy to the Fink family and countless Weaver football fans who found comfort and encouragement in his gentle attitude.
