Growing Through FFA and Community

Branaman’s journey in FFA began with the agricultural influence surrounding her hometown of Clewiston, Fla. Inspired by the impact agriculture has on her community and the presence of U.S. sugar, she became interested in learning more about the industry. What started as curiosity soon turned into a lasting passion. As chapter reporter at Clewiston Christian High School, Branaman says her role has helped her grow more confident in using tools like social media to promote her chapter and connect with others.
“I chose to stay involved because I learned that agriculture serves my community and others around me,” she says.
Through FFA, Branaman has stepped outside of her comfort zone and become more active in her chapter and throughout her community. The organization has encouraged her to advocate for agriculture and use her voice to support an industry that impacts everyday life. Furthermore, FFA has helped Branaman develop strong public speaking skills and a deeper understanding of agriculture. These skills carry over into every part of her life, allowing her to communicate effectively and represent herself with confidence in pageants, school activities and beyond.
Dedication in the Show Ring and Beyond

Branaman showcases commitment and consistency through her years of experience in the show ring.
In addition to her many commitments, Branaman has shown hogs for nine years. She has earned first in her class multiple times and returned to the ring for showmanship, demonstrating the dedication and consistency she brings to every competition.
Balancing so many commitments is not always easy, but Branaman has found a system that works for her. She relies on a weekly planner to organize her schedule, keep up with extracurricular activities and stay successful in the classroom. Her approach shows that time management is one of the most important tools for any student hoping to stay involved.

Branaman’s story is an encouraging example for students who may feel like they are too busy to join FFA. She offers simple advice: “There is always time to do something you are interested in,” she says. She encourages students to make room for the things that matter most.
In every role she takes on, Branaman represents what it means to shine in and out of the blue jacket. Through FFA, she has grown as a leader, strengthened her passion for agriculture and developed skills that help her succeed far beyond the organization. Her story shows that with heart, discipline and dedication, it is possible to juggle it all — and thrive along the way.
