A variety of options from Volleman’s Family Farm.
Have you ever been in the dairy aisle at your local grocery store and seen a glass bottle with an FFA jacket on it?
I have.
Those bottles you see are from Volleman’s Family Farm in Texas, and they are bringing awareness and appreciation to FFA.
The History
In an interview with Andrew Volleman, I asked him how long the family farm has been in operation and when he began his career in commercial sales. Volleman said, “Our roots in agriculture run deep. Both sides of our family have been involved in farming for as long as we can trace. My dad’s side had a dairy farm in Holland in the early 1900s, and my mom’s side also ran a dairy farm. You could say mild is in our DNA.”
Volleman added, “Our journey to Texas is part of our story. Our family first operated a dairy farm in Europe then made the big leap to the United States and started building the farm we have today, back in 1993. It has been a family effort ever since. We took a major step in 2020. That is when we began bottling our own milk. It allowed us to bring the same care and quality from our farm straight to families who love our products.”
FFA Jacket Bottles
Next, I asked him about the special edition FFA jacket bottles and how FFA is important to the Vollemans and the industry.
“At Volleman’s, agriculture is more than a job. It is a way of life that has shaped our family for generations,” he said. “From planting the crops that nourish our lovely cows to caring for their health and comfort, we take pride in being hands-on through every step. That commitment gives us a level of traceability we are truly proud of, and it keeps us grounded in the values that matter most. This is why the FFA jacket bottle design holds a special place in our hearts.”
Volleman went on to say, “The response to this design exceeded anything we could have imagined. Seeing families, students, teachers, and FFA members come together around a single bottle was something we’ll never forget. It sparked conversations, created memories, and helped shine a brighter light on the incredible work of FFA. Supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders is something we care about deeply, and knowing that this bottle helped raise awareness makes us incredibly proud. The organization continues to shape the future of our industry, and we are honored to stand beside them in that mission. We are grateful for every person who shared, collected, displayed, and celebrated this bottle with us. It means more than you know. And we hope everyone is looking forward to what is coming next.”
So the next time you are walking through your local store and see the Volleman’s brand, think about their story and the work their family put into creating the legacy they have today. Then, when you pick up that bottle and see the FFA jacket, think about the Volleman family’s advocacy for local agriculture and how participation in FFA furthers the agricultural community.
