Wamogo FFA opened its doors this week for its annual Open House, welcoming students, families and community members to explore the wide range of opportunities the Connecticut chapter offers. The event showcased the chapter’s Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), classroom pathways and student-led activities — giving visitors a firsthand look at what makes agricultural education at Wamogo so impactful.

The chapter was also honored to welcome several state agricultural representatives who attended to show their support for youth in agriculture. Their presence highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between state leaders, local programs and the next generation of agricultural professionals.

Throughout the evening, FFA members guided guests through stations highlighting animal science, plant science, agricultural mechanics, natural resources, food sciences, biotechnology and leadership development. Interactive demonstrations, hands-on displays and student presentations helped visitors understand how the program blends classroom instruction with real-world skills.

Chapter members also shared experiences from career and leadership development event competitions, explained how their SAE projects have shaped their goals and talked about the tight-knit community that Wamogo FFA is known for. Many attendees expressed interest in joining or becoming more involved, noting how welcoming and informative the event felt.

Advisors and current members said they were excited about the strong turnout and the number of younger students showing enthusiasm for agriculture. The open house served not only as a chance to showcase the program, but also to inspire future members who will carry forward Wamogo FFA Chapter’s tradition of leadership, learning and service.

With strong community engagement, support from ag state reps and plenty of new faces eager to get involved, the Wamogo FFA Chapter’s annual Open House proved to be a successful start to another year of growth within the chapter.
