The podium with the banners of all of our biggest sponsors.
One of the biggest and most anticipated events at St. Joseph-Ogden High School, and throughout our Illinois community, is our annual FFA Auction Fundraiser. This event plays a vital role in supporting our FFA chapter and allows us to provide meaningful opportunities for our members. The funds raised through the auction help make it possible for members to attend leadership conferences, compete in state and national FFA events, participate in educational trips and receive scholarships that support their future goals.
Each year, the auction draws approximately 500 attendees, including community members, alumni, supporters and guests from across the state. On average, we raise around $80,000, which is a tremendous achievement for our chapter and has a lasting impact on our members. These funds allow us to grow as a program and ensure that every member has access to opportunities.

The auction includes both a silent auction and a live auction, offering a wide variety of items. Live auction items often feature seed, agricultural products, equipment, and large market items that are generously donated by local businesses and companies. Silent auction items range from gift baskets to services and specialty items, creating something for everyone in attendance. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our local sponsors and donors, who help make this event possible year after year.
We make it a priority to promote this event to the best of our ability in order to increase attendance and funds raised each year. Promotion efforts include radio announcements, news station features, newspaper articles and social media outreach. Through these efforts, we strive to expand awareness of the auction and continue building excitement leading up to the event.
Admission to the auction is completely free, and all attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary dinner provided by our chapter. The only cost to attend is a willingness to support our members and our program. This auction has been a long-standing tradition at St. Joseph-Ogden, and each year we continue to see growth in both attendance and community involvement.
Most importantly, this auction represents what our FFA chapter is truly about: leadership, teamwork and community involvement. Members from all areas of our chapter work together to plan, promote and run the event, creating a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone who attends. This night not only benefits our members, but also brings our community together in support of agricultural education and student success.
